Hi, I’m Kylie 👋

I’m the Victorian Greens candidate for Hawthorn in the 2026 Victorian State Election.
I get it. Politics is just not working for you and me right now.
The day-to-day is getting harder. Our bills keep rising while billionaires and big corporations make record profits. Politicians would rather have us pointing the finger at each other than holding them to account for their inaction.
The system needs a shake-up
The root of their inaction is simple – the large corporations, property developers, supermarkets, gambling companies and fossil fuel giants donate large sums to the major political parties. They do this to ensure the politicians work for them, and not us. And One Nation, with their billionaire backers, is just more of the same.
I’m proud to be Green – we don’t take corporate donations and are supported by people just like you. As your MP for Hawthorn, I’ll fight to get this big money out of politics, so that we can have a government that works for us, and only us.
Alongside my Greens colleagues, I’ll work hard to ensure that every Victorian has what they need to live a good dignified life, and ensure these same big corporations pay their fair share to fund the services we need.
Our Greens plan for Victoria
- Bring down the cost of living
- Free, more frequent and accessible transport
- Rent controls and removing stamp duty for homes under $1.1m
- Lower energy bills through investment in the cheapest form of energy – renewables
- More affordable dental care
- Pause AI data centre development (a moratorium) so that the community can be fully informed and consent to these mega projects
- Make big polluters pay for the damage they have caused to our environment and ecosystem
We’ll pay for our plan by
- A quarterly levy on the Victorian liabilities of the big banks
- Higher taxes on pokies and online gambling
- A higher windfall tax on property developers
- Doubling of royalties on coal and gas
A little about me
I’m a process control and automation engineer. I started at Yallourn Power Station in the Latrobe Valley, then worked across Australia commissioning new energy and mining facilities. I also worked for three years at Tesla in the US working on the Model S, X and 3 manufacturing lines (yes, I’ve met Elon).
I love tackling complex problems head on, working together with people on the ground to find innovative and sustainable solutions. That’s what the Greens do best too, and that’s the approach I’ll bring as your Member of Parliament.
Politics doesn’t have to be like this. Better things ARE possible. We just need to vote for them.
Vote 1 Kylie Rocha – Greens for Hawthorn.

The Greens track record
In the balance of power in parliament the Greens have secured:
$60 million to protect nature and get homes and businesses off gas
Renting reforms including banning no grounds evictions and rental bidding
5000 more empty homes available by making the tax on empty homes stronger
$150 million for bike lanes and pedestrian safety
Proudly supported the first Treaty in Australia
Stopped the renewal of the MoU with Israeli Ministry of Defence
Imagine what we could do with more power after the next election.
